Infrared Thermal Camera For Solar Panel Detection

2020-08-26 17:52

Solar panel is an assembly composed of multiple solar cells. It is the core part and the most important part of the solar power generation system. Solar hot spot can seriously damage the solar cell system, so it is very important to detect the solar panel hot spot. More and more solar panel module professionals begin to use infrared thermal camera as the detection tool of solar panel.

1. Working principle

Solar cells convert light into electricity, but they also generate heat, and failed ones generate even more heat. Under normal conditions, the temperature distribution of each battery is uniform. If the temperature of a few batteries in the component matrix is abnormally high, it is clearly displayed as a hot spot on the infrared thermal image, indicating that there may be a problem with this battery.

2. The infrared thermal camera in the solar panel detection advantages

Compared with the data collector and infrared point thermometer, the infrared thermal camera has the following advantages:

1) When the target circuit is detected by the infrared thermal camera, there is no need to cut off power and it is easy to operate. The non-contact measurement method makes the original temperature field not disturbed;

2) The image is intuitive, fast, convenient for the tester to get the temperature of different battery blocks on the same component at the same time and in the same environment, easy to find hot spots;

3) The reaction speed is fast, less than 1 millisecond;

4) In addition to taking infrared images, users can also capture a visible light photo at the same time and fuse them together to help time identification and location of faults.

3. The solar panel inspection recommendations

1) Select the infrared thermal camera with higher sensitivity as far as possible;

2) The lens axis of the infrared thermal camera should be perpendicular to the target to be shot;

3) The solar panel should be placed under normal sunlight or auxiliary light source to work or short circuit during shooting, otherwise the hot spot will not appear;

4) Avoid reflections from auxiliary solar fire sources.

4. Summary

Infrared thermal camera plays an irreplaceable role in solar panel detection. The appearance of Yoseen infrared patrol UAV greatly improves the working efficiency, high efficiency, precision and clear imaging of infrared thermal camera.
