Thermal Camera in Blast Furnace Cooling Wall Temp Detection

The cooling wall is an important cooling equipment of blast furnace, which can prevent the high temperature inside the blast furnace from affecting the shell. However, the cooling wall may lose its cooling effect due to the plugging of the water-cooling system, thus affecting the service life and production safety of the blast furnace body. Therefore, it is very important to detect the cooling wall. 1. What is the blast furnace cooling wall

The cooling wall is the equipment for cooling the blast furnace, which is composed of copper casting, steel casting, cast iron and steel plate welding parts. The cooling principle of the cooling wall is to form a closed cooling structure around the inside of the blast furnace shell, so as to realize the cooling of the refractory materials and the direct cooling of the furnace shell, thus extending the service life of the refractory materials and protecting the furnace shell.

2. Why the blast furnace cooling wall failure

Calcium ions and magnesium ions in cooling water will precipitate in the form of oxide during the heating process to produce scale, which will reduce the cooling effect and lead to the blockage of cooling cycle after a long time. Therefore, local cooling water boiling in cooling equipment should be avoided by controlling inlet temperature and temperature difference of inlet and outlet water. The inlet water temperature is generally lower than 35℃ and cannot exceed 40℃ at most. The water outlet temperature is related to the water quality. Under normal circumstances, the stable temperature of industrial circulating water does not exceed 50 ~ 60℃.

 

 

3. How to detect by infrared thermal camera

The surface of the blast furnace is detected by the infrared thermal camera, and the corresponding infrared analysis software is used.

The thermal image is analyzed by temperature. For the parts with cooling walls, the distribution of surface temperature can be analyzed through the thermal image to find out the parts with rising temperature and judge the damage of cooling walls or the defects of furnace lining. The alarm temperature can also be set through the software. When the temperature exceeds the set temperature, it will give an alarm. In this way, there is no need for real-time monitoring to improve the efficiency of the staff.

Generally, the surface temperature of the cooling wall is within 50℃. If the detected temperature of the cooling wall exceeds 100℃, it indicates that there is a problem with the water-cooling circulation system of the cooling wall. If the surface temperature of the cooling wall exceeds 300℃, it must be repaired as soon as possible, otherwise it may burn through the blast furnace shell in a short time.
